Carnival arrives in House of Fraser
It may not be Rio, but the sights and sounds of the Latin carnival will be alive and well at House of Fraser, in CrownGate Shopping Centre, during a colourful Salsa Day on Saturday, May 30th.
BBC Hereford and Worcester will take over the store’s restaurant, offering free salsa dance lessons and demonstrations to customers throughout the day.
Lively dance sessions will run from 11am-noon, 12.30pm-1.30pm and 2.30pm – 3.30pm and store staff dressed in Latin costumes will hand out nacho and smoothie samples for customers who have built up an appetite.
The event is part of the build-up to BBC Hereford and Worcester’s attempt at breaking the Guinness World Record for the number of people dancing salsa simultaneously, the finale of which will be held at the Sixways rugby ground on July 19th.
House of Fraser store manager, Clementina Fraser said: “This fun event should really bring a bit of the Latin vibe to the store and we hope customers will get into the groove and join in the fun.
“With demonstrations from the experts, learning all the steps is easy, so anyone can join in and have a go.”
