Thomson staff flying high after test
Staff at Thomson travel agents in CrownGate Shopping Centre were flying high after scoring top marks in a mystery shopper test for a national travel publication.
The store was one of four travel agents to be visited in the city by a mystery shopper from top travel publication Travel Weekly, who tested the service, product knowledge and initiative of staff, by posing as a customer looking to book a holiday in Las Vegas.
Thomson staff scored 88 per cent in the test – the highest mark out of the four agents, which also included First Choice, Co-Operative Travel and Thomas Cook.
In a review of their visit to the store, the mystery shopper described it as a “positive experience from the word go” and said Thomson was a “sincere and warm agent who patiently worked through all the options.”
They added “It was made clear that even though the customer did not intend booking that day they would be welcome back in the agency at any time.”
Store spokesman Amy Baker said: “We are absolutely delighted with the score and think it proves how enthusiastic and dedicated all the staff here are in offering our customers the best possible service.
“A holiday is such an important thing, and we want to make sure that all our customers have a brilliant experience, so we work hard to ensure all their needs are met.”
Erica Burlace, CrownGate centre manager said: “I am very proud of all the staff at Thomsons, they clearly offer customers excellent service and their enthusiasm and love for the job is plain to see – they are a credit to CrownGate.”
