Chapel Walk to welcome fashion retailer Gerry Weber
German fashion brand Gerry Weber is to open a new store in CrownGate Shopping Centre. The new store will be opening next to House of Fraser in Chapel Walk, which will add a fresh and exciting dimension to Chapel Walk’s fashion line up. Gerry Weber is renowned for clothes that are well designed, well made and with clean lines.
Erica Burlace, Centre Manager of CrownGate Shopping Centre comments: “Fashion is high on the agenda for our shoppers and visitors and we are delighted to be able to introduce a popular fashion retailer such as Gerry Weber. With fantastic designer brands in House of Fraser including Coast, Phase 8, Country Casuals and Debenhams’ designer brands such as John Rocha and Betty Jackson – the choice for ladies’ fashion is just getting better and better.”
Jim Yates, Head of Development at The Crown Estate commented: “We committed to investing in a refurbishment of Chapel Walk in order to be able to attract more big brand fashion retailers to Worcester and this exciting letting, a major achievement in a challenging market, is testament to our investment programme. We are pleased that retailers of the calibre of Gerry Weber and Animal, which opened late last year, are sharing our vision for Chapel Walk and CrownGate.”
In Chapel Walk, The Crown Estate is currently implementing a £5 million refurbishment programme to introduce a fresh new look with improved ceiling heights, new lighting, updated paving and a contemporary public space around the listed Huntingdon Hall. A full refurbishment of a former pub adjacent to CrownGate Shopping Centre, at 18 Broad Street has also been completed. These ambitious projects will help to revitalise the area, enhancing Worcester City Centre’s reputation as a desirable retail location.
Mr Yates continued: “As part of our long-term investment plan we will continue to invest in CrownGate and enhance the experience for our shoppers, by improving the retail units, adding more choice and variety to the retail offer and upgrading the public space.”
