Boston Tea Party set to brew up a storm!

The cups are polished and waiting and the coffee grinders are at the ready as popular café chain Boston Tea Party prepares to open in its new refurbished premises in CrownGate Shopping Centre.

The much-anticipated new café will be opening on Thursday, November 19th, at 18 Broad Street, the landmark building on the corner of Angel Place, formerly known as TJs bar.

The building had stood empty and dilapidated for some time before it was bought by the Crown Estate, owners of CrownGate, who gave it a major overhaul ready for its new tenants, who are set to brew up a storm with shoppers.

Based in the West Country, Boston Tea Party is a small chain of family owned, award-winning and family-friendly cafés, which serves up a range of freshly-ground coffees, delicious teas and mouth-watering snacks.

It also prides itself on its ethical policies – aiming to source ethically sound products from local suppliers and to use only free range meat and eggs.  All milk is 100 per cent organic, and coffee is fair-trade or ‘relationship’ – resulting in fair prices for growers.

Worcester is the eighth Boston Tea Party café in the UK - the first outside of the West Country, and Boston Tea Party manager director Sam Roberts said he was thoroughly looking forward to its opening.

“We are thrilled to be opening in such a vibrant and interesting city as Worcester and we are particularly excited to have been involved in this redevelopment project.  We have been working hard with the council’s listed buildings team to reinstate and enhance its original features and to take this neglected old building back to its former glory,” he explained.

“We very much hope that the Boston Tea Party quickly becomes part of the Worcester community and is a welcome addition to the city centre.”

CrownGate centre manager Erica Burlace said: “There has been a huge amount of interest from shoppers about this opening.

“It is fantastic to see fresh life breathed into this landmark building and to welcome such a popular chain as Boston Tea Party – which not only offers Worcester’s shoppers delicious food and drink, but is conscious of supporting both local and international food producers as well as the environment, which really is commendable – we are sure it will be a great success.”
