Double world record for female rowing team!
It was double the celebrations as the female rowing team taking part in a continuous rowing challenge in CrownGate, smashed their second world record.
In his latest update on the gruelling challenge, team coach John Maxwell said: "The women's team have tonight finished their world record attempt by setting a phenomenal new record for the Longest Continual Row.
"Their effort of more than 2 million metres in 176 hours of non-stop rowing has utterly destroyed any previous marks - more than a million metres further than any team before.
"Sophie Clarke-Hackston, Fay Sheppard, Chloe Murdoch, Clare Broady, Jossie Rose, Yuping Yu, Hannah Clift, Isy Whitehead, Amy Dobbins and Sam Twamley now hold both the world record for the fastest Million Metres, and the Longest Continual Row.
"No single other women's team holds more than one world record, so for the girls to take two of them is incredible.
"The men's team continue to power ahead of the world record pace, leading the world record by 15 hours and 200km - with only 600km to go to beat the world record!
"We've been so touched to see users of the Worcester Snoezelen coming back go see how we are doing, and again delighted to be working to raise awareness of their centre and the amazing work they do.
"On a sad note, we discovered this weekend that the clubs trusty racing eight has met the end of it's racing life with some serious damage to it's hull. If any businesses wanted to become involved with the club by sponsoring a replacement boat, it would save our season.
