Cafe Vienna staff are on the ball for charity
Staff at Café Vienna, in CrownGate Shopping Centre, are swapping their aprons for football boots to raise money for charity.
Staff from the café will be taking part in a five-a-side football competition at St Johns Sports Centre on Sunday, 9th May.
The competition runs from 11.30am to 3.30pm, and will raise funds for the British Heart Foundation.
Café Vienna manager Ashley Quinn, said: “We took part in the challenge last year, which raised funds for Help the Heroes, and it was great fun.
“We all love football, and raising funds for charity is something that is very important to us here, so combining the two is perfect!”
He added: “We’ve got a mixed team, organised by my son-in-law, Russell Varley and featuring one lady – Samantha Hudson.
“Last year, we came third after losing out on penalties and raised more than £1,000. This time, we have been practicing, and want to do even better.”
Any one who wants to sponsor the Café Vienna team can come into the café, in Friary Walk, CrownGate, and fill in a sponsorship form.
