Live band performs in CrownGate
Come and enjoy the beautiful sounds of Miccoli, the up and coming band from the West Midlands, at Bell Square, Crown Gate Shopping Centre, Worcester Saturday – Sunday 15th / 16th May 2010.
Originating from Halesowen, twin brothers Alessandro and Adriano and their sister Francesca take great pride in writing their own music, giving them a distinctive style that portrays their mixed Italian/English heritage. Their music has been described as ‘an eclectic mix of melodic and alternate pop with tinges of jazz and blues’, so come and be entertained by their unique and soulful sound.
Miccoli’s latest single, ‘Angels and Demons’, was released in support of the British Heart Foundation, a cause of huge importance to the siblings. The twins discovered they both suffer from a heart condition known as, Wolff Parkinson White Syndrome, which initially can appear as ‘palpitations’ but due to a ‘short circuit’ of the hearts natural pace maker causes the heart to accelerate its beat from normal to well over 250/minute . This condition can lead to cardiac arrest which of course is fatal.
They aim to raise awareness of this condition (especially among young people) through their music and raise more than £15,000 for the charity and are performing throughout 2010 in order to achieve this. (see web site for dates and venues www.myspace.com/miccoli)
Alessandro said: ‘Like most seemingly healthy people my age, I’ve heard about people in the past with heart conditions and just assumed it would never happen to me. We want to use our single ‘Angels and Demons’ to make young people aware of the fact that heart problems can be found at all ages, not just older people and to help raise money for the British Heart Foundation at the same time.’
Miccoli will be in CrownGate from 10.30am on Saturday 15th May and from 11am on Sunday 16th May.
