Park for pence on Sundays from July 4th and extended hours at CrownGate Car Park
Shoppers will now be able to park in CrownGate Shopping Centre car park on Sundays for under £1, thanks to a new summer-long initiative.
CrownGate is launching a brand new ‘Park for Pence’ offer, which will run from Sunday, July 4th to Sunday 26th September.
Shoppers will be able to park for just 99p from 8am to 6pm every Sunday throughout this period. The remaining penny will be donated to CrownGate’s chosen charity, the Worcester Breast Unit Campaign.
CrownGate is also extending the opening hours of the car park to encompass those customers who want to stay out later after their shopping trip. From July 1st, the car park will be open from 8am to 8pm from Monday to Saturday and 8am to 6pm on Sundays.
CrownGate centre manager Erica Burlace said the Sunday parking scheme and extended opening hours mark the start of an exciting programme of changes planned for the car park this summer, which also includes shopper loyalty incentives, a deep clean and a complete overhaul of signage.
“CrownGate car park offers a great deal for customers, and we think it’s time to shout about it – that’s why we are launching a summer of offers, improvements and incentives, starting off with our Sunday parking scheme.
“We think this provides great value for customers, as well as helping to boost city centre trade on a Sunday, which has always been low compared with Saturdays.
“Customers won’t see any changes to the way they pay for their parking – they just need to take a ticket when entering the car park as usual and pay at the machines at the end of their trip.”
CrownGate car park, which has offered the same tariffs since 2005, is increasing its weekday and Saturday tariffs from July 1st – however, customers parking for up to seven hours will pay just 20p extra on the whole duration of their stay.
Ms Burlace added: “We have kept our tariffs at the same level for more than four years, but, due to car park improvements and operating costs, have had to increase them slightly this summer.
“However, we have kept this increase as low as possible, and have introduced initiatives such as the Sunday Park for Pence scheme, so that customers can get the best value out of parking with us.
“We are still among the cheapest car parks in the city centre, and we also offer shoppers a range of extra services, such as Shopmobility, security, card payment facilities, Mother and Toddler spaces and Waves carwash, as well as easy and covered access to the shops.”
Customers parking on a Sunday who do not wish to donate the extra penny to charity can call the centre management offices on 01905 795999 to arrange how to claim it back.
