From TOMORROW shoppers in CrownGate will be able to access a range of offers and promotions from stores throughout the centre, simply by scanning a bar code with their mobile phone.

CrownGate’s QR code-based offers system has been created exclusively for the shopping centre in a bid to help its retailers battle the tough trading conditions affecting the UK’s retail industry. It is believed to be the first of its kind used by any UK shopping centre.

Anyone with a smartphone can download a simple free app that allows them to scan the QR codes posted around the centre which then direct them to CrownGate’s mobile website listing all current offers.

The investment in the system, which is believed to the first of its kind for a UK shopping centre, is the latest bid from CrownGate to maintain its’ recent above average increases in footfall.

The CrownGate QR system will be launched on Friday 17 and Saturday 18 at the two-day Great Big Value Event, 11am – 3pm each day.
