What is The Crown Estate?
Valued at over £6bn, The Crown Estate manages a wide range of properties across the United Kingdom.  We rank alongside the UK’s most successful property companies.

Our property is very diverse.  In towns, it includes commercial and retail properties. In the country, it includes agricultural land, parkland and some forestry.  As well as CrownGate Shopping Centre in Worcester, properties include retail parks, business parks, farms and housing. And we have over half the foreshore and almost all of the seabed around the UK.

As owners, managers and guardians of one of the world’s most important and diverse urban, rural and marine property portfolios, our work is underpinned by the three core values of commercialism, integrity and stewardship.

We’re in business for the long-term and our business culture embraces our responsibilities of stewardship: whether in Regent Street in London; or in Windsor Great Park; or in the countryside; or in the marine environment.

We run our portfolio commercially. This benefits the taxpayer because all of the surplus earned by The Crown Estate goes to the Exchequer and in 2008/09 this amounted to £226.5 million.
