Get sparkling - it's Christmas!
Unless you have been in hibernation for the last few weeks, you’ll be fully aware that Christmas is approaching.
And as Christmas party season kicks off, the many fashion magpies out there will be relishing the chance to get the glitter on and get sparkling. If you are fond of adding that extra glamour to your winter outfit, you will be glad to know that sequins are in fact the thing to be seen in this festive season.
However – a word of warning – there are boundaries that must not be crossed. Steer clear of whipping every sequinned item off the shelves and donning them at once, as you risk looking like an overgrown Christmas bauble.
Opt instead for one sequinned item per outfit – team a sequined dress with a black structured blazer and sky-high heels for a retro look, or take a sequin clutch out with you to brighten up your LBD.
Hobbs in House of Fraser is where you can find the sequin dress of the season – a beautiful black and silver shift style, guaranteed to wow fellow party goers (main picture above). If, at £199, this is outside of your budget, then you will find Internacionale’s sequin front tunic a fully worthy alternative for just £29.99 (below).

Perfect for adding just a touch of sparkle, Internacionale’s sequin scarf – at £6.99, comes in black or blue, or pop in to Wallis in Debenhams and pick up their sequin waistcoat for £38, great with a sleek black pencil skirt and vest top, for a quirky twist on the party dress.
If the sequins are that bit too flashy for you, this season’s jewel-embellished pieces embody glamorous sophistication. Again, Wallis in Debenhams comes up trumps with its black jewel tunic dress (below) at £45, and its green beaded clutch, £23, is a real gem, perfect for those party nights.

So ladies, get out there and sparkle this Christmas.
