Frocks away!
It is a special moment every year, one that cannot be taken lightly. That moment is the first time that I put on a summer dress.
This special moment means the start of summer – the start of barbecues and walks in the sunshine, and enjoying an ice cold glass of wine on a balmy summer evening.
And that moment has arrived – today, the black trousers were cast aside, the pencil skirt neglected. Instead, a full-skirted, buttoned beauty of a summer frock was the weapon of choice for a hot day in the office.
The shelves are full of worthy options, vying for my attention – whether it is maxi or mini, structured or slouchy, the summer dress has arrived!
A beautifully subtle and understated floral version can be found at Mint Velvet in House of Fraser for £85 (main photo).
And if it is sleek, chic and summery you are after, how about this gorgeously classy number from Principles in Debenhams, for £65 (above).
Alternately, if you are after this season’s maxi trend, try this eye-catching summer stunner for £24.99 at Internacionale (above).
