Signs of Spring at Crowngate Shopping Centre
Signs of spring are all around us. It’s more daylight hours that make the day feel longer and allow you to pack in even more to a great day out. It’s waking up your wardrobe with new season trends. It’s the brand-new menus packed with fresh seasonal dishes and alfresco dining without the chill. It’s catching up with friends and laughs with the kids.
We are proud to share all the fantastic things our city and shopping centre has to offer this Spring.
Here’s what you can look forward to at Crowngate for FREE between 1st April – 15th May.
Free Half-Term Trail
1st – 16th April
Find the 20 Bee characters hidden in Crowngate’s shop windows for a chance to win a Cadbury Easter hamper worth £50! Pick up your trail sheet from Toytown and post it back once completed to enter our prize draw. Whilst you’re there why not pop into The History & Heritage Pod where you can pick up pack of free wildflower seeds to take home (subject to availability). The trail winner will be drawn at random and contacted on 17th April.
Crowngate’s Beehive Map
Did you know that according to the British Beekeepers Association, bees are known to fly as far as 5 miles for food, however an average distance would be less than a mile from the hive?
We’re plotting a map to identify where most of Worcestershire‘s beehives are located, and we need your help! If you have a hive, or know of any within the county, please email your postcode and a photo of your hive to events@crowngate.net, and we will update the digital map.
Bee Selfie, Chapel Walk
3rd April – 15th May
Head over to Chapel Walk to discover Crowngate’s Honeycomb display, where you can take a bee selfie. Why not learn more about the incredible world of bees by visiting the following local organisations; Worcester Beekeepers, Worcestershire Beekeepers Association and Worcester Environmental Group.
RHS Giant Welly Tour
3rd – 20th April
The RHS Giant welly as part of the Malvern Spring Festival will be in Friary Walk (next to The History & Heritage Pod) from 3rd – 20th April. Grab a selfie with the giant 10ft welly, which weighs a whopping 100kg!
Junk Modelling Workshop
12th April, 10 am – 2 pm
Join REMADE for a FREE junk modelling workshop in the History & Heritage Pod. Children, along with their parents/guardians, will be given the chance to use a range of recycled materials to make small art projects.
Bee ONSIDE
15th & 16th April, 11 am – 3pm
Join ONSIDE for a weekend of FREE activities in The History & Heritage Pod.
The timeout workshop is a fun introduction of simple creative techniques, to inspire mindfulness and increase positive mental health. Children and families can join the spring themed arts & crafts. No creativity is needed!
The ActOnit workshop gives children and families a chance to plant bee friendly seeds and then take them home to watch your seedlings grow.
King’s Coronation Celebrations
29th April – 8th May
Get involved in celebrating The King’s Coronation in the History & Heritage Pod. Rub shoulders with royalty and snap a selfie with a life-sized cut out of The King. Whilst visiting The Pod, have a go at designing your own crown or draw your favourite Royal!
